Olorien Mara Camp is ideally located within the Masai Mara National Reserve, approximately 255 km from Nairobi. Nestled along the banks of the Oloolaimutia River, this serene setting offers guests a unique opportunity to enjoy the boundary between the Masai Mara Reserve and our camp. We’re conveniently located close to the main gate, making us one of the best safari camp locations in Masai Mara for easy access to prime wildlife areas.

The most efficient way to reach Olorien Mara Camp is by flight from Nairobi to the Masai Mara airstrips. The closest airstrips, Siana Mara Airstrip and Ol Kiombo Airstrip, offer transfer times of around 45 minutes to our camp. For guest convenience, we provide airstrip pick-up and drop-off services upon request.

Olorien Mara Camp offers an unforgettable family safari experience in Masai Mara, with exciting Big Five game drives, breathtaking views of the Great Migration, and child-friendly safari activities. As the day winds down, families can gather around a bonfire to enjoy traditional Maasai dance performances under the starry sky. Our luxurious accommodations, nestled amidst the African bush, provide a cozy retreat, and the surrounding savannah sets the perfect backdrop for sampling authentic African cuisines.

Your safety is our priority at Olorien Mara Camp. We take extensive measures to minimize malaria risks by offering mosquito repellents and conducting regular mosquito spraying throughout the camp. We also encourage guests to use additional protection, such as anti-malaria tablets, and to consult with healthcare providers before visiting malaria-prone regions like Masai Mara.

The Masai Mara climate features varied temperatures throughout the year. Daytime temperatures typically range from 20-27°C, while nights can drop to 11-14°C. There are two rainy seasons: a short one in November and December, and a longer one from March to May, with April often experiencing the heaviest rains. Seasonal flooding may occur, especially during these peak rainy months.

Guests are welcome to check in any time after 8:00 AM. Check-out is scheduled for 10:00 AM, allowing ample time for departure or to begin your next Masai Mara safari adventure.

All non-resident guests must present a valid passport upon check-in. Kenyan residents may use a valid national ID. Be sure to check current visa requirements for Kenya before traveling to Masai Mara.
